Mighty Mite J neck on a P

Hey Folks,
I love my Precision but the neck is slightly on the large size for me. It's a 57ri body with a 62ri rosewood board.I've been thinking about getting a Maple/Maple Jazz neck for it,specifically the Mighty Mite offering which gets good reviews on here. One thing that worries me tho' is that the necks have a one thick inch heel. Does that mean that you have to trim it to size ??
My wood working skills would probably write off a £100 neck if that's the case.
Cheers in advance.

I put a Mighty Mite P neck on a Mexican P body and had to rout the pocket down (seemed a safer option than shaving the neck). Nice neck though.

You could alternatively try a Warmoth neck.

Anyone else out there know about the 1" heel thing.

Pete.
