RhysP Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012
Aww C'mon they were, or seem to be meant innocently. Theres not a paedo on every corner you know.
I wasn't being entirely serious. If Gilbert O Sullivan wants to sing a nice happy pop song about wanting to marry his underage niece then who am I to point the finger? Quote

TheGreek Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 "Only sixteen" by Sam Cooke - in fact weren't there loads of songs in the late 50s/early 60s about 16 year olds..?? Quote
spinynorman Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 Going right back, there's "Long Legged Baby" by the Graham Bond Organisation. At 0:57 in this clip you get a good look at the guy who's singing "It was early one morning, I was on my way to school." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MInI4CZO5NY Quote
Lozz196 Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012
We always apologise for Youth Gone Wild.
Played that in a band I depped for last year. I simply couldn`t sing the real lyrics, so sang I was The Youth Gone Wild instead. Quote
benebass Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Thirteen by Big Star - musically beautiful, but listen to the lyrics... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pte3Jg-2Ax4 Quote
JTUK Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Don't play most of the songs mentioned anyway...but then again, I never ever know the lyrics to a song, just as I wouldn't ever listen to the lyrics on the radio. Lyrics are the last thing I'd connect with... so I couldn't rule out songs on that basis Quote
munkonthehill Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012
After 40, any rock/pop music Seriously, though, I think there is always the potential for old rockers to look a bit 'sad' if they overdo the teenage angst angle of rock and roll. I guess its about learning to grow old gracefully.
lets all just play jazz then and feel as though we are dying a slow and painful one hahahahahaha Quote
