Rayman
Has anyone tried to toneprint onto their TC pedals? I ran through the process with my Vortex flanger, and tried to toneprint the Mark King Sweet m***er toneprint, the pedal flashed as it should, all looked good, but the pedal din't sound any different. I then tried it with the Janek Gwizdala Family Of Rats toneprint, same again, didn't sound any different. Any suggestions?
topo morto
Did you have it set to the toneprint mode?
Rayman
Yep, switch in the middle.
pantherairsoft
Did you update the firmware of both pedals 1st to make them comparable with the newest batch of Toneprints? Update - http://www.tcelectronic.com/flashback-software.asp
Rayman
I did yeah. It was the first thing the software asked me to do. I'm assuming that once you've downloaded the toneprint and sent it to the pedal via Smartphone your sound changes automatically?
pantherairsoft
In theory - I've never tried via the app...
topo morto
Tried both with the phone and over USB?
Rayman
I couldn't get the USB download to work. Might try it again.
pantherairsoft
I couldn't get the USB download to work. Might try it again.
But the USB worked for the firmware update??
Rayman
Yeah it did. When downloading the toneprint via USB, the download bar goes up to 100% as it should, and then nothing happens? I'm sure it's just something I'm doing wrong, I'm plugging it in now to try again.
Rayman
OK.... Pedal connected via USB.......power lead plugged in.......footswitch depressed so red light on......no jack leads plugged into sockets.....toneprint switch in the middle......downloaded sweet m***er zip file and opened it.......grey box appears with download bar.....pressed upload and bar goes to 100%......SO I assume that's it? If I plug in and play I should now have the Toneprint?? Let's try......... Sounds the same if I flick between toneprint and flanger setting, no difference. topo morto
IIRC with my flashback, I just left everything plugged in (power, usb, and both jack leads) and was able to load different toneprints while playing.... there weren't any horrors resulting from staying plugged in... Rayman
OK I'll try that, it's all plugged in now. I'll try the Family of Rats again, because it's so mad sounding I should hear a difference.
Rayman
Right I think I'm getting somewhere. Thanks for all the input, I'll keep playing with it, and annoying the neighbours. On a side note, the pedal, regardless of toneprints, sounds wonderful.
