Raggy Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Looks perfect to me like this. Quote
Grand Wazoo Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Sheldon you don't often get a word of critisicm from me on any of your work but I have looked at the way these Super P headstocks are going and... I can't take it anymore!! I have to say your original design (no matter how expensive or time consuming it is to achieve) was the best in my views, you rendered a very arty solution, now you are taking it back form us with corner cutting options that are imho not worthy of the original. Exhibits A / B / C How can anything be better than that, I ask... The second variant which appeared on Dave Swift's headstock (which is the inlay without the scalloped section) I can just about see it fitting within the design But this I am not a fan of: People of Basschat, support please! Which one do you think looks better? 1) original scooped / etched or 2) Modern plastic plate. Quote
Musicman20 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Original, IMO. Plus the scooped version would be much harder to damage! Quote
Ed_S Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) 100% the simple engraved version.
The problem is that the engraving is too subtle. From a distance it disappears.
...and I personally reckon it looks much nicer for it! Edited March 27, 2012 by Ed_S Quote
lojo Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 These things make me go dizzy, its like one of those optical illusion things. Quote
discreet Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited)
Leaks into the wood Nd looks messy. Silk screen would work but might look cheap.
My 2p: Have the 'D' logo bigger and in place of the 'Super P' and have 'Super P' smaller and on a plastic disc where the 'D' logo is! Which is more important? Edited March 27, 2012 by discreet Quote
skej21 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) As long as its not the fishy one! (number 3) Edited March 27, 2012 by skej21 Quote
discreet Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 OK, what about a completely blank headstock and supply each bass with a magic marker? Then everyone can write what the hell they like. IT MATTERS NOT!! PS: If you write 'Fender', I'm going to kick your ass. Quote
