PaulKing Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 (edited)
ok got my finger out, here's some pics of my f-hole covers made by Jim Fleeting in Ripon who also fitted my 2nd sound post so my bass is "almost" feedback proof & stills sounds mega
That's what mine look like too ... I managed to get some thinner foam for the outer surface, so they sit a little flatter too. Just a cosmetic thing... Nice work. damn ... pics won't upload... hmm Edited September 19, 2012 by PaulKing Quote
artisan Posted November 25, 2012 Author Posted November 25, 2012 just an update,i ate humble pie & bought a Fishman Pro Plat form Amazon (£128.00) played a gig friday night at a local pub,we were pretty loud & my bass was really belting it out (enough to make the toilet seats in the gents vibrate apparently ) i didn't get the slightest bit of feedback even when i leant the bass on my amp & just stood in amazment at the silence,i am really really impressed with the Fishman now i know how to use it,i had the best sound i've ever had too with good comments from the punters along the lines of "that bass sounds f***ing ace mate" i when through the effects return jack to bypassing my amp's preamp so maybee that helped too i'd never tried that before but man can my Roland belt out the bass. i'm so pleased i've finally cured the feedback. stingrayPete1977 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 This thread has really got my intrest, I'm pretty sure this is my only option too, already got a fishman and a bassmax. Quote
artisan Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 hi Pete,i have still had a problem recently with feedback but once i moved my pickup onto the G string side of the bridge i have not had a single squeek out of it,i did have to up the bass a little on the Fishman but still get a really good sound. stingrayPete1977 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Now that is very interesting too, I did think about that. I had a J tone before with two pads but now just the single K&K, I might try swapping it over as I have plenty of bass anyway, Cheers Quote
artisan Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 It wil certainly help a lot, once it'd moved mine i realised i had far too much bass before plus my speakers like me again now. Quote
