charic
Who do you guys use for your album art then? How much can we expect to pay for it? We have a concept but can't really do it ourselves as it's just too complex for my poor illustrator skills
Conan
Not that I've used him myself.... but he has worked for the likes of Fish, Marillion, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest... charic
Amazing artwork on there! I've mailed him but fully expect it to be a little on the pricey side
joeystrange
We use our guitarist (and have done for years before I was in a band with him) who is an incredible designer. BigRedX
Who you use depends upon what you want. If it's actually illustration that you want you need to find an illustrator who works in a style that you like. Dick Venom & The Terrortones single cover and comic was done by Catherine OC. The launch poster was by Video Mat.
charic
It's finding these people though I really don't have a clue... As for style... Apparently it's surreal (I don't know, I just thought of it) and dark. Landscape / seascape? (is that a word?) it's a beach!
bartelby
Depends on what style you want. But have a look at Simon Fowler at Cataract I have a small collection of his tour prints he's done for Earth and Sunn O))). Personally I use myself (thought finishing my masters so not taking on work for next month or so)

charic
I think maybe I should probably point out that we're not at pro level yet and really need to try to do this on the cheaper end of the scale. These names coming up all have awesome art and the reps/price to go with it (and deservedly).

BottomE
Little side story - a guy called Andie Airfix painted one of our family shop signs on the Kings Road when i was a kid. He later went on to do a lot of rock art. Cat Burrito
We found a picture online, contacted the artist (a lady in North Carolina) & she was so flattered she gave it us for free. We then paid about £100 for our booklet layout http://www.amazon.co.uk/Every-Dirty-Mirror-Case-Hardin/dp/B005J4NY3W/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1332958003&sr=1-1 Hope that helps
Conan
Find a local and poor (shouldn't be difficult) art student!! Even at A-level, there are some genuinely talented people. Very cheap too...

Roland Rock
If it's illustration you want, as BRX says, look around to find one with a style you like. Hireanillustrator.com is a good place to start - http://www.hireanill...i/illustrators/ this is my illustrator friend's stuff from that website: http://www.hireanill.../david-hallows/ He painted a bass for me years ago - a Hawaiian shirt design!
