Rare 80's hohner Jazz Bass

I think it is an ash body, maple on maple neck with abalone dots. It is slightly lighter than a Fender.
The bridge is a lump, all original and I cannot find one like this on any other Hohner anywhere on the net. Tuners are Schaller with one Hipshot Dtuner. The electrics are all new and shielded, very high quality as they were taken from a top of the range Lakland and then re-wired. Mahogony thumb rest and Tort pickguard and truss rod cover.

The pickups are Wizard Eighty-Fours, Wizard says;

Darker, bassier and generally dirtier than the Sixty-Fours, these pickups are overwound to lower the overall tone. Loud and proud these pickups will drive any group.

The Bass was recently set-up by Simon Jones at SGL Guitars and it is superb to play. It has a brand new set of DR Handwound strings on it with a heavy bottom E from a Dtune set.

Overall condition is good. A bit of paint chipped here and there but that just adds to the look and feel.
Quality bass at a great price. Selling as need funds and just don't get to play this one.

PRICE DROP [s]£275[/s] £245 plus shipping at cost.
I had an error when I uploaded the pics - it just won't let me.

I had exactly the same model as this 25ish years ago and still regret selling it to buy something 'better'. The bridge was pretty solid and retains the strings under the plate as far as I remember.

Have a nostalgic bump!

I had a fender copy strat made by them in the 80's and it was excellent. Everyone was after it. The build quality was fantastic. Good luck with the sale.
