Fingerslikesausages Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 (edited) Hi Wondered if anyone could recommend a decent Combo as my first giging amp? The band play mostly 60's covers with a bit of Freakbeat and the occasional Who track. We've a lead and rhythm guitar and a very energetic drummer with a double bass pedal! I'm looking for something that'll have a bit of presence, playing mostly pubs or small clubs, but as always I'm on a budget, probably got about £350 to spend. I've really no idea as to the sound I want to create, although I would love a sort of Entwhistle vibe!!! Someone suggested the Laney RB4 at 160 watts, or an Ashdown EB12-180, any comments on that or any other suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks Edited March 31, 2012 by Fingerslikesausages Quote
stef030 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 there was a trace elliot 2x10 in the for sale section, just the job I would think Quote
Mog Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 (edited) 350 would get you a decent 300 watt combo. Id be looking at Trace Elliot or some of the Ashdown abm combos. Keep an eye out in the for sale section. A gem usually pops up every so often. Edited March 31, 2012 by Mog Quote
Lozz196 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Yep, go used, preferably off of here - your budget should easily get you a 300 watt combo which would be plenty for gigs. Trace Elliot would be good - very powerful amps. Quote
ripper1888 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Eden have some good combos. Ashdown as well. Quote
