I visit Ukraine & Russia fairly frequently due to my wife being from this region. There are a lot of these 'Soviet' guitars & basses around, if you know where to look & unsurprisingly dirt cheap. Trust me, the majority are unplayable (tree-trunk necks),dodgy built quality with crap pickups & this is coming from someone who likes his old Jap/Italian crap, I can do without modern ergonomic basses myself.
Would advise steer clear of most of this stuff - its generally sh*te. Shame really, as there are some cool & whacky designs, but totally ungiggable.
OK for a video shoot I suppose.
