Clarky72
Excuse my ignorance here guys... Has the 5 string Stingray always been 1-3/4" (44.5 mm) at nut? I remember seeing something about the possibility of EB making a SLO Special 5 with skinnier necks. I've never taken much notice of the 5 strings until recently, and been now looking at getting hold of one for some low B goodness. I really don't want a tree trunk of a neck though, and the Ray is slimmer than the Jazz (47.6mm at nut) so it looks like Ray is the way forward without having to buy into modern bass shapes which really aren't my thing, so no Warwick or Ibanez. Any help and info would be great. Thanks
Grand Wazoo
The SLO slimmer neck does exists but... only in the 4 strings variant and what that is, none other than a Sterling 4 neck profile on a Stingray 4.
Clarky72
Ah okay, thanks for that. I was wondering if I bought a 2nd hand SR5 if it would have the same neck size as the current ones, I'd seen some stuff about making thinner necks for the 5s but wasn't sure if the current spec was that new thinner neck or the standard for a 5. Cheers!
