sam_
After getting my SX jazz i've decided it needs new strings, i don't like the feel of their stock ones in the slightest but love the strings that came on my Ibby 205, anyone have any idea if they're Elixers or D'Addarios? I know they use both not sure what they use on which basses though.
leonshelley01
The non-Prestige Ibanez models come with D'Addario strings as standard, only the high end Prestige models come with Elixirs. So your GSR would have come with D'Addario XL strings.
sam_
thanks for that, sorta glad too Elixirs are damn expensive :|
Faithless
But they're damn good too Mine came with Elixies, but I thought all Ibazzy models get those. But on low end models Elixirs would do about 1/4 of price, soo... Stupid me :[
lowhand_mike
my sr500 came with elixirs and its not top end. have a real close look at the strings near the bridge or neck and you should see if there is the coating on it. if there isnt then they are D'Addarios ok just checked the ibanez site, and they generally say if they are using the elixirs on their basses (selling point?) and the GSR205 doesnt state what strings they are so i would guess the D'Addario.
