Eden Tweeter Horn replacement bulbs on Ebay

Anyone need a new protection bulb in their Eden crossover? I spotted these today:

I think I'll order a couple for my Eden 210 - at this price they seem worth getting as spares.

Why not pop into Halfords on your way home, probably get a packet for that price. They are only car interior lamps, used as they limit the current as they gently overload and go pop. so act like a slow blow fuse

my old [i](now sold on) [/i]Eden CXC-410 used have an 'interior glow' when worked hard. Quite a show when her cabin light got all excited. (could be seen by audience on a dark stage). But never blooo one.

I thought of that before but 12v is not a high enough rating. It's likely to pop first time you use it. My power amp puts out upwards of 40 volts into the speaker cab so I'm guessing a car bulb is not up to the job. Eden say something similar on their website. Mind you, they might just be trying to convince you to buy their own product!

Got some more info from Eden on this folks and they say that the bulb starts to light when voltage hits 24v-28v and that's when you know to back off. 12v car bulb won't cut the mustard. I also tried searching for automotive bulbs and saw some 24v of the right size but they were in USA and were $9.24 for a pack of two plus shipping. So the guy selling them on ebay seems to be ok on price.

Looks like there's two issues with replacement bulb - voltage/rating and dimensions. Looks like the Eden bulb is an unusual size and rating (for UK) - quelle suprise!

They are The same bulbs as used on commercial vehicles and Boats -- 24volt 18 watt Festoon ----12 volt will only last a very short while!
