heminder
so i have an ESP/LTD bass that has stock pickups, they are ESP's own-brand SB-5 soapbar-style pickups. i had a peek in the cavity and if i remember correctly i think i saw a G&B preamp. i have no idea if the pickups are active/passive but there's that preamp in there and the bass has a separate cavity to take a 9v battery. i'm wondering what the maximum voltage this kit can safely take is? i know EMG pickups have a max supply voltage of 27V, but these aren't EMG so i'm wondering if anyone knows anything about them? i did change the battery to a fresh one and it made a small but noticeable improvement in sound, even though the old battery wasn't in any way flat. it measured a healthy 9.14V on my multimeter, and the new one measures 9.56V. [/quote]yah, that's what i did - i tested them while they were connected to the circuit.
