Two channel confusion...

Hi there,
Very confused.
I have two Vanderkley 112MNT cabs, Power: 600 Watts RMS, Impedance: 8 Ohms. I want to use a two channel GB STLMax 12.2.
How does a 2 channel amp work? One cab into each channels output?
Looking at this, what will I get? (from the GB manual)...

The SHUTTLE®MAX12.2 dual power amp design offers a variety of available output power choices:
One 8 ohm load (either Amp A or Amp B driven) 375 watts
One 4 ohm load (either Amp A or Amp B driven) 600 watts
Two 8 ohm loads (Amp A and Amp B driven) 750 watts
One 4 ohm load (Amp A) and one 8 ohm load (Amp B ) 975 watts
Two 4 ohm loads (Amp A and Amp B driven) 1200 watts

Assuming each power amp has one output, you've got two options. A) use one of the power amps and daisy chain the cabs, giving you a 4 ohm load and 600w, or use both power amps, each driving an 8 ohm load and giving you 750w. I'd go for the latter, not for the extra 150w but so the amp isn't being worked as hard.

Thanks for that Musky, yes, eachchannel has its own output, so does that mean if I have one channel set up for clean, and another set up as overdriven, I can only have 375w available for each?

So how would I access the 750w option? By mixing them somehow?

I just looked at the Shuttlemax specs and seen that it does indeed have two preamp channels as well as dual power amps, though I'd imagine the preamp channels are summed before being sent to the power amps - if it didn't you'd have to be using both preamp channels at all times to get full power.

Simply plug each cab into it's own power amp - 750w, job done.

You're getting the 2 preamp channels (clean and dirty) confused with the fact that you have two poweramps. Plug each cab into a poweramp and then worry about your preamp, you'll have none of the issues you're worrying about.
