Musky
If you like the sound you're getting with your 1x15, get another identical one.

[/quote]You're not missing a thing. Get past the advertising nonsense that wants to make you think otherwise. The problem with mixing cabs is that the result is totally unpredictable. The best course is to buy the cab that you like the sound of best. If one isn't loud enough use two.
jackhammer
So you think a second 115? It doesnt sound bad, it's just not got the kick im after, maybe that will go away from a second cab!
xgsjx
What is the 15 you have? Maybe a change of cab is really what you need?
jackhammer
Only bought it 2 days ago! It's a gallien Krueger
xgsjx
Have you gigged it yet? That's when you'll find out if it's doing the job. Home volumes (even turned up a bit) are not gonna tell you if you need a 2nd or not.
Mr. Foxen
Putting it in a higher place will tell you if you like one of the advantages of a second cab. Might save buying a second cab to find out.
Phil Starr
If you've only just bought it then live with it for a while. Your cab will sound very different in different rooms depending upon their acoustics. Try it in other rooms. Play with your eq a bit and you might get the sound you want. A 15 is going to have a very directional radiation pattern for mids and highs. If the speaker is on the floor it is probably pointing at your knees and you aren't hearing the sound the way an audience will. Try pointing it at your ears and see what it sounds like then. If after trying everything you still don't like the sound then you might be better of selling and moving on to something new but give your cab a chance to please first. chris_b
Why did you buy a 115 in the first place? What sound were you after? The speaker probably isn't loosened up yet so you're not really hearing the cab as it should be. What is the problem that you have with the 115? If you're finding that the sound isn't punchy enough then a second 115 is unlikely to fix the problem for you. Adding a 210 to the 115 might work but it could be that the sound you want is made by 10" speakers.

I much prefer the 210 on it's own - the 115 just makes a convenient perch to stand it on.
