lurksalot Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012
Barney Miller theme.
Doh , this has made a liar out of me on another thread , I had totally forgotten about this , but was a BIG influence on my early learning , a great riff , although I did seem to recall the bassline being left to play on its own for a while with less interference from everything else Quote
chardbass Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Pretty much every theme that springs to mind has been mentioned. Fame, Bergerac. The New Avengers will always lead me to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCFVEvZvo3g&feature=youtube_gdata_player And Bergerac always makes me think of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A47BpCwF8vI&feature=youtube_gdata_player Quote
chardbass Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 This one springs to mind http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5ohUHIjAxI&feature=youtube_gdata_player The Bill was a good one for introducing odd time sigs to the general public- a memorable bass line albeit purely functional. Quote

The Bill line is good [7/4], written by the very fine Mr Andy Pask and great Drummer Charlie Morgan. Garry Quote

I hear your reasoning tho :-) One that I cannot find but you may remember is the theme from the Paradise Club ( I seem to remember it being Snake Davis-lead) All the late 80s stuff was great but 10-15yrs earlier some of the themes were sublime. Money. Quote

I can't remember the theme tune though. Having an American TV themes moment [not for the Bass lines particularly] and there are loads. Two Classics.
