pantherairsoft
Time for some MIDI-bass for a change. Melbourne, Australia's very own Jarman Donohue! PLEASE BE AWARE - MY WEBSITE IS NOW CLOSED. THE INTERVIEWS CAN NOW BE FOUND HERE -> http://simonpoulton.....com/sheponbass Jarman is the dubstep mastermind behind Australia's Men Imitating Machines, a 2-piece projects involving MIDI-Bass and MIDI-Drums and more crazy huge sub wobbling, ear splitting tones than you'd think possible from 2 men. Check out what the MIDI-Bass monster has to say about all things noisy! Edited January 31, 2016 by pantherairsoft

pantherairsoft
Thank you buddy! What Jarman does with MIDI is really quite special. We've spoke a lot on the subject and he maintains that he just fiddles and stuff happens, that he doesn't consider himself to be that well versed in how it all works and how to get results. I beg to differ! The guy is amazing! Shep Edited January 31, 2016 by pantherairsoft

They have a track (a live re-interpretation of our tune) on our new release that we are putting out next month and it's AWESOME. I love what they do. pantherairsoft
I've been excited about this one for a while. A man I often mention as a big influence - Bond! PLEASE BE AWARE - MY WEBSITE IS NOW CLOSED. THE INTERVIEWS CAN NOW BE FOUND HERE -> http://simonpoulton.....com/sheponbass Radek Bednarz usually goes simply by the name Bond. He is regarded among many bass communities to be one of the founders of bringing electronica and dubstep-styled bass to the live performance arena. His work is at the forefront of what can be achieved on live bass and his work constantly pushes the boundaries of what's possible with stringed instruments. I've mentioned Bond and his work a number of times throughout my blog and always sited him as an influence of mine. Naturally when he agreed to discuss his set up and approach, I jumped at the chance! Edited January 31, 2016 by pantherairsoft
lxxwj
Awesome interview. I remember watching those videos a year ago and having my mind blown. One question though, what's the EBS pedal on the veeeeery far left, right above the Whammy?

pantherairsoft
More pedal mayhem... PLEASE BE AWARE - MY WEBSITE IS NOW CLOSED. THE INTERVIEWS CAN NOW BE FOUND HERE -> http://simonpoulton.....com/sheponbass Ben (or Benjamin) also uses the name Aen amongst others. When asked which name should be used here he simply replied, "I am known by many names, and all of these are false!" Ben is the man behind Dwarfcraft Devices, a company making a serious name in creating some of the noisiest and most 'off-the-wall' effects pedals in the world. Dwarfcraft's dirt and synthy/glitch devices have been finding homes on more and more artist's pedal boards than you can shake a stick at and once you hear some of the toys on offer it's easy to see why! pantherairsoft
A little insight to one of the worlds top audio technology companies... PLEASE BE AWARE - MY WEBSITE IS NOW CLOSED. THE INTERVIEWS CAN NOW BE FOUND HERE -> http://simonpoulton.....com/sheponbass Morten Ehlers heads up the Bass Development side of TC Electronic, one of the largest and most successful music technology companies in the world. In between trade shows and a huge work load, Morten was kind enough to spend some time back-and-frothing with me over a few questions regarding TC Electronic's amplification and effects range, the technology behind it and why TC are such a huge player in today's market.
