Aria Pro II (Magna 5-string) - Wiring problem

Hi

Please can anyone tell me what's missing? I've picked this up 2nd hand, but obviously there's a switch or pot missing. To me, it looks like the rest is original but one component has been removed and bypassed.

I've been looking for a circuit diagram that would match this but with one additional component (including the SD site and some others mentioned in the sticky post), but haven't found one yet. (That's not for lack of effort, but may be from lack of knowledge!)

Thanks for any hints or clues you might offer.

P

Hi folks!

Thanks for the replies so far.

Ou7shined - thanks for the suggestion. I had wondered about the V/V T/T combination, it could fit with what's left of the circuit, but I still have a nagging doubt that it wasn't what was there originally.

If I were fitting that from new, I'd have looked to 'pair' the controls physically, so that it was obviously either two sets of controls, (a V pair and a T pair) or (two sets of V/T pairs). If you look at the layout though, it's more like there's a single pot on it's own, a pair of pots, and a control that was almost on top of one of those pots. It just doesn't seem right that they'd put two pots so very close together given how they've spaced the other three - it'd be really hard to use one without disturbing the other next to it. A little toggle-switch though...

I'm still hopeful that someone that's had or has one of these will spot this and let me know for sure what's really missing.

Thanks again!

i think these are Korean, i have the ma20 guitar (my first guitar) there are a couple of these over on TB and some have just 3 knobs while others have 3 knobs and a switch, the jack is in the correct positionn, if it was mine (and i would like one :) ) i would swap out what's there for something that matches your needs, here's some links to the TB ones

how about this? use a toggle switch for the series/parallel switching.

Interestingly I have one of thes - Aria Pro II Magna Series 5 string - as pictured.
It has 3 pots only Vol / Vol and Tone Pot is where your 'missing' pot is ( there's no pot or switch where your third pot is positioned ).
Unless it's a version thing then I think that a previous owner may have moved the tone pot from the original position ?
If you remove the third pot maybe you'll be able to see if it looks like the hole for that is original or a diy job ?

I too have the same Bass and have just checked, you are absolutely right, the "extra" hole is the original and where the tone pot is now is new. I wonder if, maybe, someone has fitted a pre-amp at some point and then converted it back?
