BassMan94 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Hi I'm at that moment where I've started to Solo, thing is I cannot find any decent backing tracks ! I've looked around on Youtube and sorts of places like that and only found a handful of tracks I actually like. Most will be your typical blues, heavy metal, rock ... Not really into it. Does anyone know where I can find some Soul, Funk, that sorta style of backing tracks other than youtube ? Cheers Quote

BassMan94 Posted April 9, 2012 Author Posted April 9, 2012 Are there any programs which allow you to make backing tracks without being too complex ? Quote
vsmith1 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 I have found Chordbot for Android and iPhone/iPad to be useful for setting up chord sequences to practice against. If you pay for it you can save your sequences. There are a number of styles of accompaniment. Quote

WalMan Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 The Groove Library forum was sort of supposed to add some bits that all might use. Been a while since I've been there though Quote

daz Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 (edited) Anyone want some funky/jazz type backing tracks let me know. Most all have guitar & drums, all have no bass guitar at all, although some have some light keyboards, so you have to find your own space. I have 200mb of them on Mediafire Edited April 9, 2012 by daz Quote
Plarry Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Scott Devine's backing tracks packages --he calls them "The Play-Along Series"are really awesome and very affordable for what you get: every package includes a great video lesson in which Scott shows you how to practice over the backing tracks to get the most out of them. I only bought the II-V-I the first time but ended up buying them all! (what I should have done in the first place, as you get a nice discount when buying several packages...). After just 2 weeks I could really feel a huge difference in my playing. Here they are: http://scottsbasslessons.com/backing-tracks-bass Quote
ChrisB Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) I've been signed up at www.wikiloops.com for a while - there's loads of community-produced backing tracks available in a searchable database plus, if you record what you play as an mp3 you can upload it for other people to play over.... BottomE Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Get some midi files - there are some good ones and some rubbish ones Import them into something like Cubase, Garageband or similar Assign a synth to the chord track Assign some drums to the drum track Plug your bass in to some kind of interface and off you go Sounds long winded but its pretty quick once you get going and you can loop and jam on and on and on and on and on and on You can also record yourself - speed up or slow down the track - move it into different keys Quote
Toddy Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 mykariokeversion.com spelt wrong no doubt ! ha,, really good, cheap, and you can customise them yourself on the site with a click of a mouse,, change key, add click track,,drop out any instrument you want, vocal etc,,, tis worth a look Regards J Quote
