cushymac
I really love the look of this thing. I really want it for some reason. Can't bring myself to buy it though. Thoughts anyone? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Orpheus-Orfeus-Hebros-Soviet-USSR-Russian-Vintage-Archtop-ES-335-Bass-Guitar-60s-/180859246336?pt=Guitar&hash=item2a1c0d1700

Roland Rock
I love the paint job - to me it has a kind of sci fi "Metropolis" feel Edited April 9, 2012 by Roland Rock
icastle
Interesting copy. I wonder if they made it 'blind' and didn't have an original to work from? Perhaps that's how they added a 5 pin DIN socket as an output - they were all the rage in the west back then.
cushymac
It would sound and play like sh*t I'm sure. Who cares when it looks like that though? Lottery on Wednesday it is then.
TheButler
Looks brilliant. I've been hunting for an actual EB-2, for 2 years now... they seem to be quite rare.
Mr. Foxen
Action looks lush. I think save the photos, get someone to o a paint job on a better made bass. Seem to be some reasonable semis about now. JoeGarcia just bought one, can't recall what it was but his biggest gripe was not liking Y key tuners. Dudes that paint motorcycle fuel tanks would be good. Panamonte
Looks brilliant. PM me if you want more info. Apologies to OP for minor hijack - that bass does look amazing, but I think in this case beauty is strictly skin deep

BigRedX
That looks fantastic. As an oddball collectable musical instrument in the condition it appears the price is about right. However as a usable musical instrument it's about 4 times overpriced. Has no-one else noticed that none of the strings appear to be at tension? I'd be asking why that is. BigRedX
Was about to say the same thing to Mr F when he mentioned the action . I would be wondering if the tension puts a big ole bow in that neck.
Probably a combination of this and the fact that those mini vintage tuners are no longer capable to tuning up to the proper tension before the gears start slipping. If you want something cool to hang on your wall or pose with in a video it's maybe worth £150 tops. Otherwise I'd do what someone else has already said and copy the finish onto a decent musical instrument.

Gust0o
I'm assuming it's a Hebros, which is the EB2-alike. I can't open Ebay links at work.
