Happy Jack
Bit of a farce really. Drummer arrived late so we had to borrow one and started late, so our 30-minute opener was cut to 20 minutes with no rehearsal time at all. Played just four songs, two from the set list. Had a good turn-out of players and by the time we'd fitted everyone in there were just 10 minutes left for the closing set. Drummer had left early so we had to borrow one. Played two songs, one from the list. New drummer couldn't play a basic rock/funk beat (Dixie Chicken). Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear. Oh dearie dearie me. So that's nearly five hours at the venue, plus all the carting around of kit, to get 30 minutes of rushed stage time. After several hours of practising new tracks, only one of the three we played from the set list was new. If asked, I'll do it one more time to see if it's any better. If not, I'll leave House Banding to those who like taking on loads of extra work and getting massively messed around in return.
The Funk
The drummer sounds like more of a cock than the guitarist! Turning up late AND leaving early?
