AndyTravis Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Sorry, got a bit giddy then, went for a nosey on Fenders Japan Website, and it seems that in Japan at least they've re-re-issued the Bass VI... http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fenderjapan.co.jp%2F&anno=2 Seems they'll be around £1300, which I know is a bit steep, but the late 90's ones are kicking around the £1k mark and only seem to come in Sunburst, and the CS ones all being waay too much. Anyhow, hope we can generate enough interest to get Fender GBI to bring some in... Trav x Quote
Low End Bee Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I really like that white one. It's a lovely thing. I can't see when I'd ever use one though. It's a lot of money for the occasional stab at Besame Mucho at home. Quote
AndyTravis Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 I've got a late 90's Jaguar in Candy Apple with a Matching Headstock, and this would make a lovely partner, but My Jazz is Olympic White with a Torty guard...Meaning it'd be nice to have one of them too... I've e-mailed a mate at Fender GBI to see if there's any plan to have them imported officially. I can't see there being a big issue, as it's not something either the USA or Mexi factory make, which is usually why some models don't come to our shores. Quote
MB1 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 MB1. Does this mean you'll be learning "The man with the golden arm" and joining a Shadows Tribute band Andy? Quote
franzbassist Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I would love to see the Bass V reissued as well. I know it's a weird looker, but I have always had a soft spot for it. Quote
Ruiner Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Would love one of these if the price was right. I still have one of the Jaguar Baritone Customs that Fender Japan brought out a few years back, but the 28.5 inch scale struggles with the E-E tuning. Schecter are releasing a tweaked version of the hellcat VI too, this time with proper single coils instead of the mini humbuckers on the last version (apparently should be hitting the UK in the next few months) http://www.schecterguitars.com/Products/Guitar/Hellcat-VI.aspx Nowhere near as aesthetically pleasing as the bass VI though. AndyTravis Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 Guessing £1100 ish street if they hit these shores... Still no reply yet... Quote
How about this? Quote
AndyTravis Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 Saw the Ultra at the Frankfurt show, the body is massive! Looks a bit daft with the skinny neck. But, each to their own, the Bass VI is the Jaguar's big 'sister' and while I find my Jag has been fairly useless as an instrument, it's still really pretty... Quote
AndyTravis Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 Yeah, is it stupid to want a red one and a white one...? Quote
Jazz Bass 65 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Played one when they were first issued in the early 60s. Eric Haydock of the Hollies played one on their early hits. Quote
AndyTravis Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 I reckon Fender GBI would be able to sell 75-100 of each colour? Maybe at £1000-£1200, as a limited run reissue. If not, who's going to Japan soon? Quote
1970 Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 bloke i know in australia just purchased one from japan, not sure what channel he went through though Quote
AndyTravis Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 Interesting, my other half has a cousin living in Oz... Quote

WILD FROG SHOT Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Would anyone be interested in buying a Jaguar Baritone Special HH like this one: http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~Fender-Jaguar-Baritone-Special-HH~ID~6774.asp Mine doesn't get much use as i'm a crappy guitar player (as in I play badly, rather than prefer to play crappy guitars). Thinking of selling it. Quote
CBbass Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Nice to see them back, but I wouldn't pay that much for one. Quote
ashevans09 Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 This is the one bass I really really want to get to finish off my collection. Oh well, pipe dream for the time being! Quote
Lowend Stu Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Anybody know whether these have ever been made lefthanded?? I`ve certainly never seen one! Quote
Lfalex v1.1 Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012
I would love to see the Bass V reissued as well.
