Twigman
...OK so it's slightly shorter even on max extension than I am used to....but I'm sure I'll get used to that....and yes it seems to make the bass feel lighter
jazzyvee
These are excellent - Minotaur from Greece - about £30-40 and arrived within a few days. Top quality and able to deal with heavy basses (I have a dodgy shoulder and back) http://minotaur.gr/c...229867kdh25ar02
I bought one of their 4 inch wide padded leather straps about a year ago and today I've just had delivery of another two to replace some older straps. They are damn good quality.
Norris
Not leather, but none more comfortable than ... http://www.comfortstrapp.com/
jazzyvee
Looks a good strap I'm sure more comfy than leather, but the fixings look plastic and I'm reluctant to trust the durability of plastic fixings on straps with a heavy bass after having them fail on me on guitars in the past. I have heavy instruments and for me they have represent too great a risk. Leather works for me. :-)
uncle psychosis
I've got a "neotech mega bass strap" and its unbelievably comfy. Definitely recommended.
LeftyJ
I've heard several negative comments about the Minotaur straps from bass players I know. The leather was of cheap quality and poorly treated and finished, and would dry out within a year and start showing cracks and even tear, especially on the back and where the strap rests on your shoulder / neck. I'm a huge fan of Italia Leather Straps from the USA. They can only be ordered from their own site directly, but in a wide variety of colour combinations and with a choice of suede back (rough, won't slip on your shoulder so your bass is more or less fixed in its preferred playing position) or leather backed (smooth surface, so your bass will move more freely). I have six at the moment. They regularly have special discounts too, like free shipping, buy-one-get-one-free, for 'preferred customers' (but freely accessible for anyone who knows where to look. I'm not supposed to share the link, but if anyone is interested, drop me a PM. Right now it's $30 off, buy-one-get-one-free AND $0,01 shipping from the USA to anywhere in the world. Platypus
I'm a fan of the Italia straps too - and have probably bougth more that I need, because of their two for one offers! Big chunk of quality 4" leather in a colour of your choice, available in two lengths, for not much money - whats not to like
