Hi - I live in the UK and had a request from someone in France about postage of my bass (Yamaha BB3000 in hard case) can anyone recommend the best/cost effective way/price to send it. I've not had to do this before so all advice gratefully accepted. Thanks.

I`ve used www.parcel2go.com to send basses to Greece and Finland. Cost was about £40 - £50. www.interparcel.com are also worth a look.

One thing to watch out for, whichever company you end up using is the small print. For example, Parcelforce will allow you to pay for insurance, but their small print shows musical instruments will not be compensated for. Many others stipulate that guitars will only be compensated for if sent in a hard case. So do the reading, sometimes the cheapest isn`t the best way to do it.

Current hot favourite seems to be UPS via interparcel.
