Kiwi
For any of you who weren't watching the BBC's breakfast TV this morning, I present the "Ford Fender Bass" Thats right, a fender bass made from a real fender. LOL There's another bass made from the petrol tank. It all started when a composer called Bill Milbrodt decided to pull his 1982 Honda Accord apart and make musical instruments from the parts. Ford then asked him to do the same with a brand new Ford Focus, and he came up with strings, percussion, brass and woodwind. (check out all the comments left on that one) that's what I find unintentionally funny about those muso parody videos on youtube eg. of Manring and Vai- in another context the deliberate flubs and sloppiness could be "avant garde".... Dusty
As a Ford Employee, we saw early video footage of the instraments being made & tuned etc. Yes they really do play, dont think I'd like to cart them around. I think Mike Rutherford and Kenny Jones were involved in there somewhere.
trent900
Am I stating the obvious saying that I just don't buy that the sound in the advert recording was actually played on bits of car? It sounds too exactly like an orchestra. People have spent hundreds of years perfecting the wood, metal and catgut to get that sound; I can't believe it can be done in days/weeks with random bits of metal. Ergo - it's a real orchestra dubbed over video of people actually playing on the bits of car, thus fulfilling the requirement not to too blatantly lie in the advert
Kiwi
Well they had the guy who made them on breakfast TV and he gave a demo of the guitar and one of the horns.
