4 Strings
Looking at the pics of yours, gafbass, it looks like a two piece neck too, just back from the headstock, is that a slanted joint?

razze06
Looking at the pics of yours, gafbass, it looks like a two piece neck too, just back from the headstock, is that a slanted joint?
Mine also has a two-piece neck, with a similar joint slightly further up the neck towards the headstock. Mine seems to have a slightly more concave body, accommodating my liquid barley storage system...
gafbass02
Yeah I think they call it 'scarfed on' ? So the headstock is a whole separate piece.
deefer_dog
Also have one of these beauties, although mine says 'Tanglewood' on the headstock. I'll get some proper pictures up later on of it....... Active pickups, and needs a new set of strings but it's a bass I'll never get rid of. gafbass02
And different again with the lighter neck extension. Fantastic basses. Mines staying forever.
deefer_dog
And different again with the lighter neck extension. Fantastic basses. Mines staying forever.
I'll get some proper pics up when I get home. It looks different to all the rest and needs a bit of TLC ( Wiring is a bit of a spaghetti junction, and fingerboard needs a good clean and new strings) Great bass for fingering (snigger) and the neck is a good bit fatter than the rest of mine, but I have found if I'm popping on the G-String I tend to catch the neck extension. Does't bother me in the slightest though as it's a racking bass. I got mine for 120e about 5 years ago

Nice
Well spotted!! Also, mine just says 'Tanglewood' on the headstock in white/grey writing. Must have a look for SN when I give it a clean and stick new strings on it. Any idea where the SN is on these? Be nice to get some info from Tanglewood Edited August 9, 2012 by deefer_dog

gafbass02
Just realised I used it to do this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IbrUUT1XGY&sns=em Ignore the playing, its pretty shoddy, but gives a good look at the bass. Bridge pickup, tone rolled back into my rig recorded on an iPhone

deefer_dog
Yours looks so shiny compared to mine. Finish is completely different, as is the colour. Still nothing back from Tanglewood Ireland, or Tanglewood UK!

deefer_dog
I'm looking for a bit more info than the jpeg from the catalogue, hoping they could get a bit more in depth about the bass eg: Production runs, finishes, numbers produced etc. Cheers all the same
