Really don't like where the MM PUP is Quote

Beedster Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 I guess it ciould sound good, but as I said in a previous post, there's a reason Leo placed the MM PUP where he did and the Precision PUP where he did... Chris Quote

Chris[/quote] My thoughts exactly, MM pickups go in the MM sweet spot and nowhere else.... unless you have two of them Quote
kevbass Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 (edited) I dont know if it would have that musicman bark, because the musicman pup is placed by the bridge where the strings are nice and tight, but I think it would sound like a precision with extra punch and a decent slap sound Edited April 16, 2008 by kevbass Quote
DirkThrust Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 He's got some very nice looking Jap reissue Jazzes for sale. Has anyone ever dealt with this seller? Quote
nig Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 If its running passive then I guess it'll sound like a g&l 1K which despite the 'sweet spot' issue would still sound good. Quote
SJA Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 it's messing with the forces of nature! it ain't right! Schecter did a Tele-style bass called the Baron which had an MM closer to the neck. a parallel humbucker in the P spot hollows the sound slightly compared to a P- as on the neck p/up on my Hohner B2A.
