Hello all, just spotted this BIN on the bay,

It's been around a while. Really don't like where the MM PUP is :)

Shouldn't it be nearer the bridge? (or do I mean wouldnt it be more effective nearer the bridge?)

I guess it ciould sound good, but as I said in a previous post, there's a reason Leo placed the MM PUP where he did and the Precision PUP where he did...

My thoughts exactly, MM pickups go in the MM sweet spot and nowhere else.... unless you have two of them :)

I dont know if it would have that musicman bark, because the musicman pup is placed by the bridge where the strings are nice and tight, but I think it would sound like a precision with extra punch and a decent slap sound

it's messing with the forces of nature! it ain't right! :)

Schecter did a Tele-style bass called the Baron which had an MM closer to the neck.

a parallel humbucker in the P spot hollows the sound slightly compared to a P- as on the neck p/up on my Hohner B2A.
