Sercet Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 (edited) This is an Eminence five string upright bass with the David Gage Realist Pickup that comes as standard. This is very much like a double bass in terms of neck dimensions, sound and general feel but it has a downsized body that obviously makes it more portable than a full size double bass. It's not designed to be played unplugged, but it is loud enough of practice. The David Gage pickup is excellent. General opinion is this is the closest you'll get to the sound and feel of a double bass but with greater convenience and less feedback. The neck is removable, though I have never needed to remove the neck as I have never travelled further than a few miles with it. If you need to fly with a bus, or just use public transport, the neck can be quickly removed and the bass fits in to the golf hard case that is included. It is currently strung E to C, but it has been strung B to G without adjusting the nut. Includes soft case, hard case and stand. The Eminence web site is here: http://www.gelbass.c...ss/bass5RN.html I would like £1,690. I am based in Worcester. malcthebass Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Hi mate- would you be interested in a trade for my Sei 6 string singlecut (pic in my avatar) - its worth about £2600 new but I might do you a straight swap if you are interested ..? Cheers Mal
Clarky Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I had the 4-string version of this (now owned by Mr Bassman on BC) and its an excellent portable DB. I used it on my last band's mini-tour of Portugal and it was so easy to take off the neck, pack away safely in golf case and then set up again. Really excellent touring instrument
Sercet Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 Thanks for the trade offers. I have tried four and five string basses, but I now know that I only really enjoy four strings. Clarky - thanks for your comments on the bass. Steve
Mark_ii Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) Would you be interested in a trade for a Musicman Stingray HH SLO Special (4 string). Brand new condition, immaculate, with case. Can add a small cash supplement if that's what it takes. Edited August 7, 2012 by Mark_ii
