waynepunkdude
Very nice (except the Wals). Is it Musicman's or Musicmen? I need to have a chat with you about violin basses next time I see you which I hope will be soon.
Happy Jack
Technically, it's Musicmans (just like it's Sony Walkmans) but seeing as there were four musicians in the room ... Any time you fancy a chat and a beer, just let me know.

Happy Jack
Keep it pre-66 then, or you'll need one of them Rickenbacker thingies ...

Silvia Bluejay
I should have been there too! (at least for a short while). But I was having lunch with friends in a pub, in Chiswick too - the 'lunch' finished at 6:30 pm. (Don't ask...) If my upright 5-stringer arrives in perfect condition on Monday, I hope to be able to make the next W4 bass meetup, if it's still all right with you guys. It's a lefty, though... Dad3353
Good evening, Jack... Is there a story behind the 'customising' of that Club Bass..? I don't think I've ever seen that finish in the catalogue. Is it all your own [s]fault[/s] handiwork..? Just curious.
Happy Jack
T'was done by a German hippy, c.1972. He used a 1" paintbrush and household gloss ... Bizarrely, underneath that paint-job it's actually all-original, and perfectly playable.

Clarky
Anton Zeller? Andreas' brother? Jack, how many times?
Dad3353
The goofy-grinning BC'er in the check shirt looks uncannily like my brother, Tim, I kid you not..! He lived in one of those high-rise towers in Brentford a few years ago (moved out to Shepperton since...). Nah, 'twould be far too much coincidence but, really, spitting image..! He wouldn't play sax, by any chance..? As for the Club (obtained from Germany, then, I suppose..?), I would speculate that 'Splat' was the name of a Teutonic group that didn't quite make it. What a strange idea, though. Much like the paint job on John Lennon's Roller. Sacrilege..? Depends on the intentions of the perpetrator..? I'll keep it from my fellow Hofner Hound forum chums; wouldn't want them (or some, at least..!) crying for blood..!
gary mac
How many BC'ers feel as left out and bereft as I do? There was me at home with a miserable migraine

There was me at home with a miserable migraine [/quote] Mate, you are probably better off. I've been to one of Jack's 'salons' recently, I came away wanting a Barefaced Midget, a TCE head, and a Wal 5er of all things. I still think about them Seriously, it's a great thing Jack does, and it was great fun and educational.
