Hello,I've not been on here for ages so I hope your all keeping well. I need some advice if thats ok.I've just joined a new band, our style is progressive metal and my tuning is B F sharp B E. I'm looking around for a new set of strings that are of a heavy gauge i'e the first b is a 135,which is fine but I want a set that doesn't sound bright at all so I keep that dirty low sound of which I havent found yet?anyone know where or what make to look for?
Thanks in advance for any info

I play in Drop C (CGCF). I phoned up newtone, told them the scale of my bass and my usual gauge for standard tuning and they made me a set of strings in my usual gauge but for drop C.

You could try the same :)
