Micro POG power supply question

I've just got a Micro POG - instructions say to use the specific 9.6V power supply.

Is this EHX usual scare mongering so I can use my 9V One Spot as I do with all other pedals, or is that 0.6V important?

The 9v power supply will be sufficient. I'm sure I've seen this come up before concerning battery power and power supplies where basically it didn't make a blind bit of difference. I'm sure someone with a Micro Pog will chime in soon, but considering if anything you would be UNDER powering it it won't do any damage at all.

Yeah I had a micro pog. Used a daisy chained 9v diago power station with it for 2 years with no problems whatsoever.
