- - - Wouldn't use it in just any setting though, and would avoid the clothes of your avatar with this bass for example, unless it was just for fun. :)

White n' tort. I like Tort, tort, tort, tort.

I think of the two the pearl looks better. Neither of them are tort though. Tort, tort, tort, tort etc... ;)

How's about that then?

Genius. Pure and utter Genius. That be off white and tort?
I love how the beard tones are affirmed through the pg, and the metallic of the pipe have their antescedent in the tuning ... er ... things.

I'm generally a big fan of white pearl scratchplates ( I have one on my Levinson Strat).
However, there are a couple of things that make me not like the look of the one you have on your bass:

The thin black line of the laminate around the edge; it looks like you've put it on your bass & then gone around it with a black felt tip pen. All white rather than white/black laminate would look far better IMO.

I don't think the gold screws work with the rest of the hardware. They would have worked fine with the gold anodised scratchplate but I think chrome or nickel ones would look better with the pearl plate.

I love iit personally ! Not a fan of gold on anything bass wise including hardware, apart from a brass nut that is ! ;)

Can't help but think, "wedding" when I look at that Jon.....

I'd even be happy playing "love lift us up" as a first dance on it, .........but then have to change basses for "take your daughter to the slaughter" as I'd feel I'd be violating it somehow. ;-)

I think it'll have to go back to gold, I can't bring myself to drill extra holes in the body & it don't sit flat as it is  I'll save it for a rainy day bass :)

Cheerz, John
