A quicky of the GB Spitfire Prototype which I've now got:

For a 14 year old bass it's still in pretty damn good nick and sounds just as good as a Sadowsky I use to have.

What do you mean 'before going up to the Midlands', it won't be going up there, not in my lifetime anyway.

1 sense of humour for Mr Brooks please.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Funny. Good one.

Interesting logic. What's my Rumour got to do with your sense of humour?

As an aside, have you not felt the weight of some Rics and Warwicks...? Heavy is subjective... Its not heavy for me. Did you not think to actually weigh it...? :)

Joking aside Mike, how are you getting on with it? - it certainly looks like a nice example. How about some pics to add to the thread?

He loves me really Nick, no worries. :)

Pics at some point, got too much going on gig-wise and workwise generally so it'll have to wait.

As Bernie makes highly individual instuments, how about all owners providing pics and names for their guitars. I know when I picked up mine in March of this year, it was 4 string Rumour number 92. Whilst I was visiting Bernie a few weeks ago, i saw this beauty. It looks 3-D and the pic doesn't do it justice.

That's really nice, although I'll admit I'm not a fan of the "brushed aluminium" hardware. The neck wood looks gorgeous. Get some black hardware on it and I'll have it! :)

I saw this bass a month ago when i was sorting specs for my Rumor, and it is impossible to do this bass justice with photos, in the flesh that quilting is real 3D, and one of the most eye catching basses i've seen in a long time, i would love it on any bass i owned.
It was the first time i'd seen the brushed ally hard ware and i thought it looked fantastic and suited the bass down to a tee.
Got to give Bernie a ring to finalise everything in the next couple of weeks, should have done it already but i've been busy moving, work. baby etc....
Watch this space guys because this Rumors gonna be special!!!!

There is a video showing the 3d of this bass in the videos part in the demo section of http://www.gbguitars.co.uk

Been neglecting this area of late... time to change things.

Here's a little teaser...

Think you've seen it before? Nah, this a four string!

Saw this when I was down at the shop the other week and it really is a stunner!

Oh yeah, we had a good wood hunt the other day... scouring the world for some outrageously beautiful wood. Found a few choice pieces... I think there are going to be some crazy GB creations in the pipeline...!

And I think that's the last of that particular piece of wood :)
Reminds me of some early shots of mine when he sent me some sample shots, probably on the same armchair. Be 3 years this January, not been using her so much lately, just ordered some mega light strings 30-90!! to try and rekindle my luuurve for her.
