EBS_freak Posted March 17, 2016 Author Posted March 17, 2016
Yes! That's very very nice indeed.
I think so. Quite ridiculous! Quote
Chris Horton Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 I am collecting the bass tomorrow , i can't wait Quote
visog Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Nice thing - sure it sounds awesome. Be good to A/B with a regular (thru-neck Spitfire). Still not there on the shape vs. some the SC's from Ken Smith and Surine say... No coil tap switch? Quote
EBS_freak Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016
No coil tap switch?
No - different circuit altogether. New circuit. Quote
Yeah , different circuit ........ I think that it maybe a "john East Uni pre" identification on the circuit but looks like pictures on the "East" website. The bass is currently fitted with single coils Quote

EBS_freak Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 You are right, it's a John circuit and Bernie has been exploring It as an alternative vibe to the Rumour circuit. Quote
thestick Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 What's the difference between this and the spitfire circuit? Quote
Chris Horton Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 They are as different as you can possibly get. Tonally very different. Quote
thestick Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Would it be possible to put a east curicut in my Spitfire without too much disruption ? Is it a matter of taking one out and fitting new in? Quote

I would take take your original circuit off your hands if you were thinking about moving it on. Quote
Chris Horton Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I personally don't like the tone of the John east preamp. I am getting Bernie to put the GB circuit & pickups into my Merlin Quote
visog Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Blimey... major surgery there.... Personally I love the super hi-fi sound of the GB circuit... Nails the Super-J sound but also I like the forky neck pick-up sound for rock too. Hope it works out... Quote
Thanks It all should be fine , When Bernie built the Merlin he cut the control cavity out so it is the same as as std gb. The gb circuit should just drop right in ........... Hopefully:) Quote

EBS_freak Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 Man, I know I'm a fan anyway... but this may be one of Bernie's finest looking ever. I'm not usually big into single cuts but wows... Quote
TheGreek Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Big fan of Bernie's work, love the way he carves his basses in the female form. On this I think it looks better from behind as it's more waisted (slim waist, broad hipped) - from the front it lacks this. Quote
