I wish I hadn't sold mine but I was far too precious with it and it wasn't getting the use it deserved.

Yes, I remember seeing yours - it is a beautiful looking instrument.

I have the same dilemma but determined not to wrap this one in cotton wool ..... taking it out tonight for the 2nd time

Not seen the classic before  - beautiful! Sort of merge between the current Spitfire and his earlier Goodfellow shape from the '80s. Very nice.

God I hope I don't see one in a five...

It's a new model .... to me it feels more like the Rumour than a Spitfire (in terms of a more compact body). 

Here's the 1st 5 string for you   don't panic ... it's sold! (- now owned by Laurence Cottle I think)

Sort of Rumour at extremities - peg-head and tail-piece base area but with Spitfire horns. Anyway really nice looking bass. Looks like some tasty electronics too.

Would love a go on one...

Haven’t posted for a while. Here’s my Rumour4 number 0052 made for me by Bernie in 2001. I sold it a few years back when I stopped playing. In 2017 I was offered the opportunity to re-join my old Band, and I was able to buy back my bass (I’d kept tabs on its whereabouts) . I won’t be parting with it again!

It's a beaut! I had one very similar to that colour scheme. Ended up in the States when the guy saw it on the website and offered me an offer I couldn't refuse through contacting Bernie. I think I referenced it earlier in the thread. So glad you have it back in your mitts!

Mine was probably the best Bass I ever owned but I was too precious with it and rarely took it out of it's case. Not sure if I admire others who actually play theirs - NOW BE CAREFUL WITH IT!!!😉😉

I'm sure that I stumbled on your old Rumour up for sale recently - beautiful dark (walnut?) facings. It's looking like it's been well used now but I'm very tempted to buy it and get it restored by Bernie
