Bought on a whim, absolutely fantastic bass that I can't justify keeping as I already have 2 Yamaha 5 strings and am still trying to move house!

This is way beyond most recent Yamahas (and I love Yammys!), really up there with the early Japanese stuff - weight, sound, playability all superb. Very cool bridge that allows you to string through the body at 45 degrees or through the back of the bridge. Looks fantastic too.

Comes in as-new condition, including very nice fitted gig bag, original box and swing tag - still has the protective plastic on the scratchplate. Also includes the original paperwork showing that it was bought from Bass Direct.

Retail on these is £1049, Bass Direct will charge £878 - this is therefore offered for sale for [s]£650[/s] [s]£599[/s] £549 + postage. Reduction to £549 for the next 10 days or so (until I actually move house) only then this will be withdrawn or taken to Bass Direct for a commission sale.

I'm located in Salisbury but regularly travel up and down the M3 and A34 so happy to meet up; otherwise I can post for £20-30 with Interparcel/UPS.

Specs from Yamaha:
The BB1025X Features the same spline-jointed 3-piece body construction, designed to sound the same as a single piece of wood, and a new 5-ply maple/nato laminated neck. The BB1025 has the Super-BB’s custom wound pickups, developed by Yamaha’s Hollywood custom shop, with a warm, rich alnico split coil and powerful, punchy ceramic blade pickup, feature on BB1025 as does the new Vintage Plus bridge, with its stainless steel baseplate and brass saddles for the perfect combination of brightness and sustain. Super-BB’s revolutionary 45-degree Mitre Stringing, for improved string tension, tone and stability is fitted as standard and BB1025’s hardware package is rounded off with pro-spec chrome hardware, 3 new finishes and a fitted gigbag supplied as standard.

Give in! They really are fantastic basses, reminds me of my old BB1000 - if someone had bought my BB NE when I had it up for sale earlier this year I'd definitely be keeping the BB1025X but sadly this has to go.

Oh that is nice.. I wonder if that's the one I tried at BassDirect a while back. Fantastic bass that I'd dearly love to own but strict one in one out policy is in force!

Have a bump and good luck with the sale!

Ah I would've bitten at that price but I've gone and bought a double bass this week. :/

Have a bump on me though, it's a lovely looker. :)

Thanks - hope you're getting on well with the 42" scale!

Bump for a temporary insane price reduction! Basically I'd rather have one less thing to move and I'm moving in the next 10 days or so (solicitors paperwork permitting) therefore until I actually move this is reduced to £549 + shipping; if it hasn't sold by the time I move then I'm either stringing it E-C and keeping it or it's going up to Bass Direct for a commission sale. Either way this is the cheapest way to get your hands on a basically new BB1025X.
