Twigman Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I am GASing for another bass build and this site http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/middle_bass.htm seems to have quite a few parts in stock cheaper than I can get in UK/EU (even if I add 20% VAT). Obviously ordering parts from Ohio and shipping to UK is something I don't do every day so was wondering if others have dealt with this firm and whether anyone can vouch for their service? TIA Quote
yorks5stringer Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Depending on what you order there may be taxes levied by customs so factor that into your prices.... Quote

umcoo Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Yeah I have a few times. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them, always got stuff from them in about a week and usually avoided customs. There are some stories on the web about how bad they are if things go wrong though...communication doesn't exist basically. Quote
RhysP Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I've ordered things from them before (strings for my Hamer 12 string bass) & they were great. Quote
JimBobTTD Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I've ordered from them loads of times. Great place. Some EBay sellers can be cheaper when factoring in postage, though. Loads of parts for my Jazz Bass build come from them. Quote
loudandclear Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Ive ordered from them before - had really good service , wouldnt hesitate Quote
Doctor J Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 (edited) As above, ordered from them plenty of times, always great service. Edited May 1, 2012 by Doctor J Quote
neepheid Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 It's been a while but I've had stuff from them before and never had a problem. Quote
Stacker Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Loadsa times and never a problem. They have stuff that you cannot get over here, even Fender kit! Quote
EdwardHimself Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 (edited) Yep I have placed an order from them as well. Bought a bridge and some tuner parts from them, arrived in reasonable time, and they even put the value at much less than what it is actually worth in order to avoid having to fork out loadsamoney to customs. DirkThrust Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I've ordered stuff from them a few times. It always arrives quickly and so far I haven't been stung for duty even though it was over the £19 (I think) threshold. Quote
Gotta be a bit wary of this on insured stuff though, if the item gets lost the couriers will go by this stated value. I never received a bass bought on ebay from the States once, luckily the guy had put down the full price paid so got money back from the couriers. Quote
Jono Bolton Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 What are the delivery charges like? I had a look at the site but couldn't work it out. Quote
Twigman Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 I paid $35 delivery (insured trackable USPS) for some Fender RI Vintage reverse tuners (much cheaper in US than here) , a PBass pickup (much cheaper in US than here) , a neck plate and various bits of other small hardware. Currently the package is in Chicago Quote
