tom1946
Just ordered a brand new one of these bad boys for an unbelievable price. Anyone play one? what does it weigh? I'm told that they are lightweight.
Bassman Sam
I played one at Dawsons last year. Very light, neck like a wafer. Sounded really good with lots of tonal variation. I nearly pulled the trigger on one but the RA beat me. I don't think you will be disappointed.
icastle
I've been using an SR505 (with rosewood neck and 5 strings) for a number of years now. Compared to other basses I've owned it's as light as a feather, your 4 string comes in at about 6kg.
tom1946
13 lbs? I hope not Or did you mean 6 lbs?

[/quote] Well if you look at the shipping weights of the SR stuff they generally seem to come in at around 6kg - the shipping weight is only the bass and some cardboard/polystyrene. Muzz
I had one recently (not the maple-necked one but I'm sure it's close) and it was very light (maybe 8lbs tops?) and ergonomically one of the best-designed and therefore comfortable basses I've ever picked up. The Barts and 3-band give it a real spread of sounds, and IIRC, they come strung with Elixirs, too. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
