tom1946 Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Just ordered a brand new one of these bad boys for an unbelievable price. Anyone play one? what does it weigh? I'm told that they are lightweight. Quote
Bassman Sam Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I played one at Dawsons last year. Very light, neck like a wafer. Sounded really good with lots of tonal variation. I nearly pulled the trigger on one but the RA beat me. I don't think you will be disappointed. Quote
icastle Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I've been using an SR505 (with rosewood neck and 5 strings) for a number of years now. Compared to other basses I've owned it's as light as a feather, your 4 string comes in at about 6kg. Quote
icastle Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012
13 lbs? I hope not Or did you mean 6 lbs?
Well if you look at the shipping weights of the SR stuff they generally seem to come in at around 6kg - the shipping weight is only the bass and some cardboard/polystyrene. Quote
Muzz Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I had one recently (not the maple-necked one but I'm sure it's close) and it was very light (maybe 8lbs tops?) and ergonomically one of the best-designed and therefore comfortable basses I've ever picked up. The Barts and 3-band give it a real spread of sounds, and IIRC, they come strung with Elixirs, too. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Quote
