Status S2 - Current Value

Looking at a '90s S2, with original fitted case, in good condition, and wondered what the going rate for these is.

I paid about £1200 for a 2005ish S2 bolt on 5 string from the Gallery.

For an earlier one maybe a little less, for a neck through maybe a little more. It'll also depend on how good the top looks and if it has LEDs, a lot of Status players seem to like a bit of bling which pushes the price up.

Between 1k and 1.5k I'd say depending on condition and spec. Lovely basses.

Lovely indeed. The one I'm looking at has walnut facings. In fact, my preference is for an Empathy from the same period, but one hasn't come along any time recently.

I have a mid-eighties neck-through series 2. If I was ever to sell it, I'd be looking for around a grand I think. Sadly, although I have the original fitted flight case, the foam has deteriorated so I replaced it with a new Hiscox version. Much lighter!!

Bearing in mind my S2 cost me £1300 in 1986, it has held its value pretty well!
