Walker
Could you use a bass pod pro xt or a zoom B3 as a modeling pre' with a Yamaha (or similar) power amp to drive your cabs? If its a daft question, forgive me!
chrismuzz
Not that daft, I don't know the answer either! I know you can with a Sansamp and stuff like that but have no idea about the line 6 or the zoom!
LawrenceH
The bass pod pro xt shouldn'tbe a problem as IIRC it has pro level (+4dBu) outputs, the zoom b3 I don't know about, often more budget kit is either consumer level or somewhere in-between. Depending on the power amp this can be a problem.
Walker
Thank you, now I know what to look for, I'll dig into the specs Cheers
bartelby
From the Zoom website: "Maximum output level: [line]+5dBm(Output load impedance 10kΩ or higher)"
bremen
Could you use a bass pod pro xt or a zoom B3 as a modeling pre' with a Yamaha (or similar) power amp to drive your cabs? If its a daft question, forgive me!
I've successfully used the bass pod pro to drive a power amp and cab. Favourite combination was a Hiwatt 200 and Ampeg 8x10, was quite fierce with a Precision.
Walker
Have now put both units through a Crown XLS1500 Drivecore, bridged into my two Vanderkley 112mnt's. Both the B3 and the Pod Pro work very well. Especially impressed with the B3's amp sims through the power amp. The B3 and XLS will probably become my 'small, quick n dirty' gigging rig. Still getting to grips with the Pod.
