American Jazz Deluxe, early version with the original John Suhr pups.

Active electronics, original Schaller tuners, the extra fret(!), through-body stringing.

Can read about their design and history here:
http://en.wikipedia....n_Deluxe_Series

Unusual bluey greenish colour - not Lake Placid blue which is a bit more blueish(!), not a refinish, I have seen two others, one a 5 string on a US site and the other went on ebay a month or so ago for (I think) £730 (I kept the pics for reference!).

Weight is between 9-10lbs (on our bathroom scales).

In excellent condition bar some very minor brushes (tried to show them on the bottom edge and end of the headstock).

Wide range of sounds, from very powerful bass to a real snappy twang.

Decided I want a Stingray, can't have both so;

For sale - £[s]675 ovno [/s] £650 or make me an offer

For Trade - Musicman Stingray with cash adjustment

Message me for questions, extra pics etc, here's some:

Northern Ireland? Not sure, If you know any couriers that operate there have a look. I'll see what I can find in the meantime.

Most work here too-I'd doubt if any don't ship here.

Looks like around £15 plus about £20 for a compensation type insurance if you wanted that.

Cheaper than I expected.

£26 or £42 with Klick Couriers (2-7 or 1-4 days)

Or £82 by UPS.

Just read the useful sticky on posting/couriering etc.

I am more than happy to send this boxed up via a courier. I'll take the neck off too, if that's preferred.

Still open to offers.

Hi lewiswhitebass, thanks for the interest and that bass sounds nice, unfortunately I've already bought its replacement so its just for sale now.

Blue basses are unusual, and, I think rather cool. The Jazz Deluxe in this metallicy sort of finish has a 60s Cadillac with whitewall tyres feel about it.

Hi Bubinga5, yes the first year or so the American Jazz Deluxe had John Suhr made pups with large single poles. They're humbuckers in that they are two coils like a P pup but in a straight line. Seems they weren't overly popular and so they changed them. There's certainly plenty of beef in the neck pup and I could get a nice Jaco sound on the bridge pup and they are silent.

Anyways, this bass has now been straight swapped with a BCer for a Stingray, which was the original plan and we're both happy with our 'new' basses.
