wateroftyne
Hi all I'm down in Wath, playing at a festival. The venue is a big hall, an there's a bar in it. As far as I can tell, it's permanent, not temporary. As you often see, there's an instrument 'nailed' to the bar wall. It's not the usual japcrap Les Paul copy, or cheapy snare drum... It is - I crap you not - what appears to be an immaculate FSR Fender Jazz in LPB, complete with rosewood and blocks. It's stuck on by a metal bracket which goes under the strings at the headstock, and there doesn't seem to be a quick way to release it and get it down, so it looks like it's never used. I'm now on a mission to find out what the story is. Bizarre.

CBbass
Make them an offer for the bass, perhaps you can get it for a low price!

warwickhunt
I hope you did the decent think Michael... offered them a charitable donation and you'd take it and set it free!
electric nate
I'm not sure i've ever seen a bass nailed to a pub wall before. The idea of nailing a bass to anything is just awful though, it's like burning the Qur'an, pissing on a war memorial or privatising the NHS. I suppose the exception is if you were nailing a bass to the sort of person who goes around nailing basses to things

martthebass
That's just cruel to the poor bass.......the FSR Jazz as got to be my favourite (affordable to me) Jazz.
BassBod
I saw a Warwick Thumb on the wall in a German club...but it had lost its headstock, so was probably dead before it got nailed. A sad sight.
Panamonte
There's a black MIM P bass on the wall of a pub just round the corner from me which I sometimes play in. And a 50w Marshall guitar combo (also on the wall). The bass looks in perfectly good nick - wouldn't vouch for the combo.

However, if it was simply snapped off, then fair does.

There's a rather nice looking natural Epiphone Casino too.

I really wanted to pull it off the wall and see if it had better balance, but I couldn't bring myself to be that geeky. And the beer was too distracting. wateroftyne
Righty-ho... I'm back from my soiree with the band, armed with a photo. It turns out that it's MIJ, not MIA, but still....! Apparently, the bar owner just likes guitars, and he's bought it partly as an investment, and partly because he likes the look of it. I have to agree... It's a stunner.
