FlatEric Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I haven't posted anything in this section for ages but I think this is worthy of a mention. I know Nick (Doctorofthebass) has one and Nigel did a well documented build of a Chris Squire "Tribute" version. I mentioned at the time that I had one but as the saying goes, no pics- it doesn't exist! Up to yesterday, the only shots I had were some iffy ones that I sent to Jon, Bassassin but the weren't very good at all, so went west!! So, here it is - a not very often seen instrument on this side of the pond. **Now sits and waits whilst two dozen more turn up!!** I will be doing a big feature on it, in my Collection Blog, in the next post - explaining about the Modules, the sounds, the switching, and how it plays. Cheers. Quote
EssentialTension Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Very nice, is that a muting system I see by the bridge? Quote
yepmop Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Wow - looks stunning, I've only ever heard the 6 string versions of Electra guitars, what does it sound like? Had a look around the net but can't find any, what's it like to play. Quote
Doctor J Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 (edited) That's in incredible condition! A mate of mine has a 77 Electra 335, it's a superb guitar. I see yours has the tort fretboard binding too, I'm amazed these aren't even more popular on talkbass as a result Edited May 7, 2012 by Doctor J Quote
cocco Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Wow that's in great nick! Looking forward to the feature on it. Quote

As you can see, it is a Ric bridge, so has the same adjustable damping in it.
Wow that's in great nick! Looking forward to the feature on it.
It's the best I could find! A bit unusual?? Feature coming up soon. Pic of the Modules in mine - will explain all the others on the Blog. Cheers, Quote

Shaggy Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Seriously funky bass.... lovely example too Do you have the OHSC for it? 'Cos I've got one, only it's got a Travis Bean in it, not an Electra Quote

Yours looks like an absolute minter, I drooled over the one that Andy Baxter had until someone saved me £650 quid! Quote

I lusted after one for a L O N G time and took me ages to find the right one. One day you will crack! Cheers. Quote
