xgsjx
Has anyone heard of an instrument brand called Texas (other than Texas Instruments AKA TI)? I saw a jazz bass for sale (though it might be gone now), but can't find anything on them. I think it's just a cheap Fender copy, but it got me curious? Here's a pic from tinterweb... Doctor J
It certainly looks cheap. That's the nastiest sunburst I've seen in a long time.
icastle
When I read the thread title my first reaction was 'shout YEEHAH before playing a random pile of notes'... It's actually a US based custom build shop, although I've never seen any of their gear over here. gjones
Yes I'm sure they sell parts etc. I'm sure I came across them when searching for a neck for my jazz.
Doctor J
Not sure they're the same, the Texascustoms ones look quite decent, that one above has a different logo, different headstock too. No Texas state icon after the logo either.
Sean
That paint job is vile. The tuners look like pawnshop guitar tuners. It's just wrong.

Maybe they're doing a Fender\Squier thing?
gjones
Here you go http://www.ebay.com/...4#ht_1531wt_965 they look alright except for the crappy logo . xgsjx
Texas Customs aren't the same. The one I've seen just has Texas on the headstock that's shaped more SX rather than Fender (almost identical to the one in the pic). Though the one I've seen does have decent looking tuners. JimBobTTD
A few shops around here sell them. They're yet another low price Fender copy brand. The couple I played were definitely not worth playing, let alone buying.
xgsjx
It was £80 & a schoolkid had first dibs. Don't know if he took it. The shop mainly sells party goods & black pudding & the bass was sitting next to the black pud.
