It's why I love my CIJ p bass, it's sounds and pays great, but has dings and chips in it, so I don't stress about it out of the house

It may also be true that a lot more is brought new these days, I remember gigging when I was younger, everyone had 2nd hand rigs tat where already road worn cosmetically (and bloody heavy so hard to move around without bashing them)
