ikay
Can anyone tell me what this is? Listed on Gumtree as a Yamaha but no model name or other details. All the seller can tell me is that it's a solid body with a pickup under the bridge and a 3mm jack socket (bit odd) and vol/tone on the back. Scale length is 40.75 inches. Clarky
Looks very like an Aria SWB 03 SHX to me. However, placement of vol/tone differ so maybe its an older version of this EUB? ikay
Hi Clarky, I wondered whether it was an Aria but the chap seems convinced it's a Yamaha. Also the headstock and machines are very different to the Aria, the gears look more like a traditional URB. All very mysterious

bassace
You're right, Mr B. I originally wondered whether it was a Harley Benton which looks similar and also has a 3mm jack. This bass looks a good buy and, dare i say, would be a good alternative to a Stagg.
Beer of the Bass
I've seen cheap chinese electric violins labelled "Yamada". I wonder if it's one of those and the seller hasn't noticed that there's one letter different from Yamaha?
Mr Bassman
Here's another but without the scroll gear4music
Lfalex v1.1
IIRC, all the Yamaha "Silent Strings" series (Violin, Cello - Don't know if they did Viola or Bass) were of a "Skeleton" design. No flat body surfaces at all, That's a very old IIRC, mind you!

BobVbass
Yes gear 4 music special. I had one of those, they weren't bad. They weren't good either.
