Anyone do it this way?

Quavers and semi-quavers I tend to count (1 + 2 +... 1 e + a 2 e + a.. etc.)

For other rhythms I tend to a little head bob, keeps the missus amused when she's watching at gigs.

For melodies, I just kind of.. well. Memorise them. No humming or singing while I play, I'd distract myself!
