vax2002
I wonder if James Jamerson would have thought after all these years, modern bass lines would be so influenced by him. This could have been his line, straight from the Jamerson books.

TomKent
My foundation of bass playing was centered around Jamerson and Dunn. Without their amazing chops my playing wouldn't be nearly the same..
Sibob
Very cool, such a great song to noodle about on! The Zoot sounds quality too! Si
vax2002
Great video and it has to be one of the few lines I have heard the 5th string add anything of worth to the song, rather than a drone string the bottom up run really adds to the feel. Love your study of jamerson, amazes me how many bass players have never sat down and listened, one even said, huh he could not play muse, I played him the break in Ill be there before the chorus, play that mate in F like jamerson did, then bring muse back to the table. If one bass player laid down the foundations for the bass playing Riffs as opposed to root notes it was Jamerson, then Dunn I suppose... dc2009
Love that. If you had to give one or two Jamerson pieces that inspired this sort of playing, I'd love to hear them so I can feel less uneducated.
TomKent
"What's going on" for the chromatic sections and Bernadette for the octave based riffs.
