BigBeefChief Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 My Mum was played by Entwistle, and she's a pig. Well done. A sound theory. Quote

thedarxide Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 lol, there have been one or two cheap ones recently. they're good basses, just be prepared for neck droop and having to compensate. takes a bit of getting used to and is one reason why my doesn't get as much play as it should because it makes my fretting hand wrist hurt. BigBeefChief Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 ....it was Dave Entwistle, the scouse plasterer from next door. Quote
GreeneKing Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I can't find the link so don't know what you're looking at in terms of condition and cost. I've got one for sale in the for sale section, neck dive sorted too if you're interested, and it's shiny black. Never been rogered by an Entwistle as far as I'm aware. Peter Quote

theosd Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 They are just always really boomy - only buy if you're a plectrum player. Quote

Mine isn't boomy & I use flatwounds & fingers. It doesn't neck dive either - after ten minutes well spent relocating the strap button. Quote
budget bassist Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I really don't like them TBH. They're unbearably ugly, i don't like the way they play, they're stupidly heavy and a lot of the time have REALLY bad neckdive unless you know what to do with the strap button. Yeah that's all subjective but it seems pretty major to me, it surprises me how many people play them. Gibsons are even worse IMO, no better quality and 5 times the price. Quote
