separating head from TE 715X combo

hi - before i am going to ruin a perfectly well working but very heavy amp - has anybody attempted to separate a head from an 715x combo amp - there seems to be a head version called AH600-7 but I wonder if it could just go into some form of gator case or similar? has anybody attempted this?

As far as I can see, the 715 combo is based around the AH600-7 - it's just been slotted into a larger sized case.

Your biggest problem is going to be finding a case to slot and secure the amp head into - I don't think they're a 19" standard that the Gator cases use.
You also need to be a little bit inventive on the rear casing as well - your amp won't be happy in an unventilated case.

for what it's worth - I did it & there isn't any problem whatsoever - it's just so much beter to carry two pieces...
